By creating an expansion space between the OD of the winding and the outer ring, this design helps reduce the risk of inward buckling. Additionally, a reinforced inner circumference further minimizes the likelihood of buckling after installation.
The LS_LL style gasket is engineered to seal effectively at lower seating stresses. With this design, the gasket requires less bolt load to seat while still delivering the same recovery capability as a standard spiral wound gasket.
These gaskets are similar in construction to Style without inner & outer ring , with outer ring, with the addition of pass partitions designed for use in shell and tube heat exchangers. The partitions are typically supplied in double-jacketed construction, using the same material as the spiral wound component.
