It is typically used in heat exchanger applications and applied as an upgrade to double jacketed gaskets. It is highly suggested to have the nubbin (if present) machined out as a best practice. Where pass partitions are required, they are also kamm profiled and laminated. They are the same thickness as the ring, and securely held in place with welds.
