It utilizes sections of high performance mica/phyllosilicate that protect oxidation resistant grade graphite and shields it from contact with oxidizers. LS_HIT represents the best technology available in regards to torque retention and sealing ability at elevated temperatures. LS_HIT gaskets can be applied to high temperature applications to 1500°F (850°C) or higher, depending on operating conditions.
